Hi, I’m Barb Rockenbach, and I wanted to take a few minutes to show you how Allvue can help simplify your fund accounting processes. In this video, we’ll show you how you can manage fund and investor allocations in a single solution and automate transactions that occur over the lifecycle of a fund. Let’s get started!

Allvue combines fund- and investor-level books and records into a single solution and chart of accounts. To simplify fund accounting, business processes were developed to automate GL entries and guide users through daily transactions. For example, when making an investment, the fund is selected, the chart of accounts is filtered down based on the process, and the security and costs are recorded to the GL. After the transaction is entered, the purchas is then allocated down to the investor. Allocations can range from pro-rata by commitment, or it can account for nuances such as opt outs. In the case of investment specific allocations, the system can reference each security’s investor allocation cost basis to automatically allocate future transactions, such as a valuation, conversion, or sale.

In addition to investment activity, Allvue can help automate investor transfers and subsequent closes. The investor transfer process can quickly reallocate thousands of transactions. Simply select the date the transfer occurred, the transferor, and the amount being transferred. Then select the transferee. The system then reallocates transactions as if that transferee was in the fund since day one.

The subsequent close process equally eliminates manual error and saves time by performing investor reallocations and calculating equalization interest with a few clicks. When a subsequent close occurs, the solution automatically creates entries to rebalance capital activity and calculate equalization interest due, then true up P&L as if the investor was in the fund since day one.
